The Colorlight 5A-75B is an inexpensive (≈$20–25) LED-receiver board built around a Lattice ECP5 FPGA that has been reverse-engineered and repurposed as a hacker-friendly development board supported by the open-source Yosys toolchain. It offers dual Gigabit Ethernet, SDRAM and HUB75 I/O, requires only a soldered JTAG header to upload bitstreams, and can be adapted for bidirectional IO by replacing the default output drivers.
A Harvard-led study used frequent real-time smartphone surveys and engagement metadata from 600+ high-risk adults and adolescents to predict 75% of suicide attempts and 87% of suicide-related events in the week before they occurred, finding agitation to be a stronger short-term risk signal than depression. The results point to scalable, just-in-time digital monitoring and intervention strategies to close gaps in clinical detection of transient suicide risk.
